Product Designer – UX / UI

This is a fantastic opportunity for a strong Product Designer with a clear vision for designing usable and cutting edge interfaces and interactions. After working closely with product managers and other team members to define the approach, the Product Designer will own the execution of the experience from designing mockups, to building prototypes, to working with engineers on polishing the final product. the Product Designer will design scalable interface systems, and obsess over the details that take a product from good, to great, to exceptional.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Partner with our Product Manager, engineers and analysts to oversee the user experience of our products from conception until launch
  • Take broad, conceptual ideas and turn them into something useful and valuable for our users
  • Design flows and experiences that are incredibly simple and elegant
  • Rapidly prototype flows, concepts, and interactions, take in feedback, and successively iterate
  • Solve UX/UI challenges and solve problems in unique and innovative ways
  • Work as a collaborative team member with clients, developers, product managers and data analysts
  • Develop visual identity systems, data visualizations, visual design, illustrations, etc.

About you

  • Skilled and experienced in all parts of the design process – research, brainstorming, sketching, wireframing/flow creation, final visuals, prototyping and asset creation
  • Understands what makes an experience good and thinks through user problems, finds reasonable solutions, mocks them up in detail, and works with engineers to build them.
  • Self-starter who actively seeks ways to make the user experience both visually appealing and easy to use
  • Look for opportunities to solve problems in unusual and innovative ways
  • Open-minded, creative, and self-critical
  • Takes initiative, collaborative and communicative

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of  visual and interaction design experience
  • Demonstrated experience with end-to-end (hybrid UX and UI) product design
  • Demonstrated strategic product thinking and vision
  • Experience in building and shipping applications or software
  • Must have URL featuring examples of interaction design work
  • Demonstrated love of design
  • Experience with and curiosity of agile and lean philosophies
  • Strong presentation and communication skills

Nice to have

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in design-related discipline
  • Demonstrated experience visualizing, simplifying and interacting with complex data sets
  • Experience building HTML/CSS

Data Analyst

The Data Analyst will work closely with the Chief Product Officer and the Data Engineering team to transform data and reporting into insights, recommendations, and results. The ideal candidate will go beyond reporting and use technology and data to develop insights and models that can improve our business. The right person for this role has a proven track record of exceptional analytical abilities, an understanding of statistical modeling techniques, and a demonstrated ability to effectively partner with business leaders in embedding analytics solutions into business processes.

As the Data Analyst you will be required to:
• Identify and document current datasets, source systems, points of contact, regularly maintain comprehensive data inventory going forward
• Collaborate with internal and external business partners to identify and acquire new datasets to meet evolving business needs
• Interface with internal and external creative and studios team to understand the data needs of these teams, convert these needs into queries and insights and report findings back to teams
• Assist in the development of internal data tools and platforms
• Manage the production of datasets and reports for analysis using system reporting tools such as Tableau, Excel and Google Analytics
• Supply reports and recommended optimizations to internal teams and external partners
• Develop, update and maintain client facing dashboards
• Develop and implement program dashboards to present data through charts, graphs, maps, and infographics to facilitate decision making
• Optimize the usage and acquisition of data, analytics and reports
• Internally champion the use of data and analytics
• Prioritize and complete other tasks and projects as assigned in support of strategic objectives.

Skills/Abilities
• Expert analytical abilities using SQL, Excel, and other tools (e.g. Tableau, MicroStrategy, etc.)
• Working knowledge of cloud-based data environments & tools (e.g. AWS, Big Query, Hadoop, etc.)
• Ability to design and analyze data from disparate sources including but not limited to: Google Analytics, Survey Monkey, Tribe Dynamics, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, Snapchat
• Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with business partners and colleagues.
• Demonstrated ability to organize projects and bring them to a successful conclusion.
• Ability to write code in R, Java, or Python is a huge plus.

Experience
• 2-5 years in an analyst role with increasing responsibility in a startup or agency background
• Experience collecting, analyzing, monitoring, and reporting on qualitative and quantitative datasets
• Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology, Business, Advertising, Math or Statistics
• Superb written & verbal communications
• Exceptional time management & organization
• Background in descriptive analysis, statistics and data modeling as well as a growing library of technical skills
• Strong knowledge of Silicon Valley platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, YouTube, Pinterest, etc.).

Data Strategist

THE ROLE:

At Fresno, we are re-imagining the way content is created and distributed. As a new type of content studio, we were founded with the passionate belief that data can and should inform both the creative and business facets of content creation. We are looking for an experienced Data Strategist who can develop our Data Strategy capabilities. The Data Strategist will be an integral part of the Fresno team and will be responsible for establishing and practicing the standard data science methods and technologies on our data. He/She will work with our technology team to take data from a variety of data sources and create actionable insights that create value for our studios business.

‪PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: ‬‬‬‬‬

• ‪Manage all primary quantitative and qualitative research for Fresno‬‬–identifying ideal vendors, partners, technologies, etc.‬‬‬‬‬
• Surface salient consumer and marketplace insights to the sales, product and content teams
• Identify and leverage powerful insights to drive creative development and distribution optimization
• Apply machine learning, statistics or data mining in a variety of areas, including video content analysis, social analysis, etc. to our original content productions to gain insights that will inform and drive the content creation process
• Invent and iterate on solutions to challenging data related problems
• Collaborate with developers, product managers and our studios team in an open creative environment
• Develop scalable and efficient methods for large scale data analyses and model development
• Ability to read into and analyze data to understand what data is important‬ and identify trends
• ‪Work to foster relationships and communicate effectively with internal team and external clients‬‬‬ and vendors‬‬‬‬‬
• ‪Communicate campaign performance to team and external partners clearly and concisely‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬

“MUST HAVE” QUALIFICATIONS:

• 5+ years working in digital media, ad-tech or a startup environment in a role focused on analyzing data and/or building analytical models
• Proven experience navigating new data and research challenges posed by emerging media
• Experience with statistical analysis and working with and distilling large data sets‬
• Ability to manage several projects at once and prioritize accordingly
• Superior organizational skills, both mentally and in tangible outputs
• Demonstrated expertise and experience in data analysis to inform content creation, marketing and distribution for differing audiences
• Ability to deliver short-term success with a long term vision
• Strong eye for detail
• Strong knowledge of Silicon Valley platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, YouTube, Pinterest etc.).
• Proficient in prototyping models using scripting languages (e.g. Python, Ruby, Scala etc.).
• Familiar with at least one of the numerical package like R, MatLab, Octave
• ‪Bachelor’s degree‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬

“NICE TO HAVE” QUALIFICATIONS:

• Master’s Degree in technical/scientific/analytical field, Ph.D. Preferred
• The ability to present results in a clear and concise manner to non-technical teams
• Experience with Spark ML a big plus
• An appreciation and understanding of good design in both software UI and slideshow presentations
• Hunger to continue learning and developing as a data strategist

Partner Manager

Fresno is a new Santa Monica-based digital content studio. Founded by proven entrepreneurs, we combine the creative talent of Hollywood with the data and science of Silicon Valley. We have a cool slate of programs and great business relationships and are looking for a special someone who can help guide and build our client relationships. You will be tasked with ensuring that clients using our software and services are successful in implementing our products.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Partner Manager with a clear vision of how they would like to help our clients succeed in the media and entertainment industries. You will be responsible for high-level relationship management of new and existing strategically targeted clients. In this role, you will serve as a client liaison responsible for successful product adoption and overall management of the client relationship to include reporting and analytics of product usage tied to client success, client testimonials and client references. The Partner Manager will work closely with the Product team to develop effective product implementation strategies, develop an effective business model for ongoing use of the product, surface client concerns regarding the product and other important end user feedback to support product enhancements and changes in the market environment. This position reports directly to the Chief Product Officer.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Requirements

• The Partner Manager will be responsible for managing one or more clients.
• Establish a trusted/strategic advisor relationship with each assigned client and drive continued value of our products and services.
• Work with clients to establish critical goals, or other key performance indicators and aid the customer in achieving their goals.
• Be the day-to-day liaison between clients and the Product team to ensure effective use of Fresno’s tools and platforms.
• Manage ongoing client product adoption issues to ensure client satisfaction and ongoing client communication by serving as their primary contact for strategic client pre-and post-product implementations.
• Present reporting data and insights to client on a regular basis.
• Establish best practice workflow to include written processes, policies and procedures that supports client management of product output during implementation and operations phase to ensure optimal use of the product.
• Handle client issues and concerns in an efficient and effective manner by engaging appropriate internal teams to ensure resolution. Ensure appropriate teams are informed in order to prevent escalations and identify new opportunities.
• Research, analyze, record and communicate product end user issues effectively with assigned clients and their management teams to achieve optimum performance.

EDUCATION:

Bachelors Degree in Business or other related entertainment field

EXPERIENCE:

• 3+ years of relevant experience.
• Proven ability to create reports and present data and analytics to clients
• Track record of strong project management, client services and/or account management.
• Fundamental understanding or exposure to the media, entertainment and publisher landscape.
• Strong attention to detail and tenacious work ethic.
• Consultative approach with proven relationship building experience.
• Proven ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
• Proficient with MS Office
• Experience with reporting software such as Tableau highly desired
• A passion for media, entertainment and digital advertising strongly preferred.
• Proven ability to perform in a fast-paced, unstructured environment with high level of initiative.
